I’ve first met the Elias Sisters at last year’s Halloween Masked Ball they both hosted – Au Pierre Du Calvet – Which was an amazing cultural attempt to celebrate the Old Montreal’s historical hotel, and make it make amends with a younger crowd with whom the ties were cut for a while. Since then, every time I’d see them, I’d notice a certain spark of ambition and engagement, that enlightens their respective personalities. They’re both hard-workers, visionnaires and very creative. I knew for a fact they were working on a new project for a while now, and although I had a small preview on what it consisted of, I’m very excited to finally be able to tell you about it!
Think fur and fashion. Not the kind you’re used to see. No heavy fur coats, no cliché cuts, no 1920’s dubious accessories… Think more of a revamped concept of fur production, handcrafted in Montreal, and ethical – in my opinion. The production is entirely made in Canada (and as you might, or might not know, the Canadian fur regulations is renowned for its high standards of quality and respect for animals). The collection début consists of seven exclusive fur vests, told to be inspired by ”Haute Couture and the métier of the local fur artists”. The vests are eclectically elegant, minimalistic, full of character and timeless. They’re fit to different styles, and taste and what I love the most is this Trendy-Meets-Quality feel that is so obvious!
Oh, and this is just an introduction – Stay tuned for more!
